Özet:

Climate change can lead to environmental and social crises, including rising temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, and sea-level increases. These environmental shifts not only affect ecosystems but also have significant consequences for human health. Since environmental impacts often unfold over long periods or in specific regions, they are sometimes underestimated. However, highlighting their direct effects on human health can emphasize the severity of climate-related crises. This study investigates physicians awareness of climate changes health impacts and how they convey this awareness to their patients. A survey was conducted with 41 specialist physicians in Artvin Merkez, a region in Turkeys Eastern Black Sea area that is particularly vulnerable to climate-related health issues. The region experiences increased precipitation, leading to flash floods and landslides, which cause physical destruction and psychological distress among residents. Given their role in addressing both physical and mental health, physicians awareness of climate change is crucial. The study aimed to assess their knowledge and how they integrate it into their patient interactions. Quantitative data analysis methods, including descriptive analysis, cross-tabulations, and correlation analysis, were used to examine the findings. The results provide insights into the role of healthcare professionals in climate change awareness and their potential to enhance public understanding of climaterelated health risks.

Verilerin elde edilmesinde, nicel veri anal.
