Özet:

It is an undeniable fact that literature affects or reflects social life. It is also known from the art movements of the 20th and 21st centuries that the novel is not only a mirror held up to the street, but also a mirror held up to the mind of the author. Since the cultural traumas resulting from the fact that Turkeys modernization and Westernization process since the Tanzimat period has still not been on track, it is inevitable that this situation will be reflected in literary works. Thus, literary works become a means of expression of ideologies. The carriers of this ideology in Turkish literature after 1950 are Necip Fazıl Kısakürek and Rasim Özdenören, two literary-intellectual Islamist founding figures. It has a symbolic meaning that they reveal the distortions of modernization through their stories and novels and that they do this from within the mosque or by addressing the mosque. Because their criticism and objections are focused on the mosque, which is the founding element of religion and memory-space or identity memory-space, because they want to draw attention to the sociological functionality of the mosque. The aim of this article is to reveal how Turkeys modernization has caused cultural alienation through the changes in mosques, the founding places of religion, through Necip Fazıls story Hasene Sister and Rasim Özdenörens novel The Man Who Grows Roses. The unconscious Muslim prototype, which is exhibited even in mosques, which are places of refuge to escape from the evil traits of the age, is criticized through these two works. Thus, both authors and their heroes become the guardians of temples both materially and spiritually.
