Özet:

This research aims to identify the similarities and differences in the export performance of 95 selected countries, with a particular focus on the G7 countries, China and Turkey. In addition, the export performance of the G7 countries was compared over two different time periods 2013-2017 and 2018-2022 to assess differences over time. The countries export performance was assessed in three main categories: exports of goods and services, exports of high-tech products and exports of commercial services. The analysis used the Expectation Maximization EM clustering algorithm and was based on Worldbank data from 2013 to 2022. According to the results of the analysis, the G7 countries show similar performances in terms of high-tech exports. In terms of exports of goods and services, Germany and the United States showed comparable performances, while the United Kingdom, France, Japan, Canada and Italy were closer to each other. For exports of commercial services, the United States stood out. Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Japan had similar characteristics, while Canada and Italy were similar within their own group. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the export performance of selected countries and offers important insights for policy makers. By considering the similarities and differences between countries, policy makers can better understand their countrys current position and formulate more effective strategic plans for the future.
