Özet:

In this study, the works of EFTUD association, which is one of the associations that try to preserve the local music and folk dances of Elazığ-Harput, one of the important cultural centers of Turkey with its cultural and artistic riches, and to contribute to their transfer to future generations, have been tried to present their contributions to the region and folk dances. Elazığ-Harput Folklore Tourism and Youth Sports Club Association, whose short name is EFTUD, has been continuing its activities since the day it was founded with the intense work of its volunteer members. Harput, the cornerstone of Elazığ culture, has hosted many civilizations in history and it is thought that the interactions of different cultures with each other allowed the folk dances and melodies in the region to be blended and enriched. Qualitative Research method was used in the research. Descriptive analysis was conducted, and findings were obtained by going to the field as a participant observer and conducting a semi-structured interview with the association manager on site. In the first stage of the research, a source search was conducted and the literature on the subject was scanned. After the interviews, the contribution of the concerts, theatres, folk dance competitions, courses, social projects, interviews and their contributions to education and other activities organized by the Elazığ-Harput Folklore Tourism and Youth Sports Club Association to the Elazığ music and folk dance culture was revealed. As a result of the research, it was seen that EFTUD made great contributions to the cultural structure of Elazığ province, and social responsibility projects played an active role in both the recognition of the association and its contribution to the culture of the region.
