Özet:

This study analyzes the historical and ideological approaches of Jihadi-Salafi organizations to the Palestinian issue. It examines why Palestine, despite being rhetorically emphasized at times, has received limited practical attention and investigates the dynamics behind this stance. Second Intifada and the Operation Cast LeadThe Battle of Al-Furqan are used as case studies to illustrate the transformation in these organizations discourse on Palestine. The findings reveal that geographical and logistical constraints are often cited as justifications for practical disengagement. However, the decisive factors include assessments of Hamas and ambiguities in the hierarchy of enemies. Hamass decision to participate in the 2005-2006 Palestinian general elections shifted Jihadi-Salafi perceptions of the movement from ally to adversary. Additionally, ideological hybridization emerging from debates on near and distant enemies has led these organizations to deprioritize Palestine strategically. The prominence of conflict zones like Iraq further contributed to this shift. Using historical analysis and process tracing methods, this study aims to provide an in-depth explanation of the discrepancies between the rhetoric and actions of Jihadi-Salafi organizations regarding the Palestinian issue.
