Özet:

The aim of this study is to determine how the main house in Game of Thrones (2011-2019), adapted from the work of George R. R. Martin as a television series, put forward their hegemonic ideologies in order to seize or protect power. The work has worked in such a way that many possibilities come into play and the familiar "good" does not naturally win the struggles of house who want to seize and protect power. In this context, although the series creates the feeling that everything has happened in "spontaneity" in the alternative universe it offers, understanding what kind of ideologies the houses rely on to ensure their power and how they construct their hegemonic discourse will help to make sense of the series as a cultural product. Gramsci's work, based on concepts such as "hegemony" and "ideology" and "discourse" in social sciences, tries to reveal the ideologies of house through the ideological spectrum and dichotomies put forward by L. Giannetti. It was determined what kind of a hegemonic discourse the house tried to form, and then it was tried to determine how the film approached these discourses by revealing how the misenscene and the narrative in the movie reached its conclusion. It has been revealed how the households form a hegemonic discourse, how the narrative in the film has reached its conclusion and how the film approaches these discourses has been tried to be determined. Towards the end of the series, it is possible to say that its "revolutionary" qualities have declined to a great extent, and that a closed, semi-democratic-monarchical, elitist, panoptic administration is found more rational and contemporary. Hegemonic discourse is based on a structure in which political and religious organizations that can be described as "extreme" will fail.
