Özet:

Arabic emerged as a result of the spread of Islam in the African continent during the period from the thirteenth to the nineteenth centuries. Muslims spread to different areas by spreading Islam among the inhabitants of the continent. In Nigeria, which is located on the continent, Arabic has undergone many stages with Islam, and over time, the nations ulema have learned about Arabic literature as well as Islamic sciences. The Nigerian city of Sokoto, in particular, was filled with famous poets who commented on their aspirations and hopes for the social situation. These poets both criticized the social life that is in conflict with their beliefs, and in addition to calling the society to reform, they both declared war against social decay and struggled against the dominant life in the society. They tried to explain their thoughts on this issue with poems. One of Nigerias leading poets, Vezir Cüneyd was born in Sokoto, he was brought up as a superior among his peers who had many advantage since his childhood. As a result of all this effort he put forward on the path of science, he acquired a wide culture and expanded his comprehension and ability. He specialized in the sciences of consumption, prosody and rhetoric and showed his talent by writing odes in Arabic literature. In addition to social issues, his poetry was effected by religion and poetic arts such as elegy and praise. He is the one who can improvise poetry and describe something he sees and comes to his mind. The choice of words that point to the desired meaning has added beauty to the poem. Most of the words he used in the couplets were fluent and pleasant-sounding letters. He was very sensitive in the selection of words suitable for the meaning, he did not include words that were not in use and ambiguous.

Arapça, Afrika kıtasında İslâmın on üçüncü asırdan on dokuzuncu asra kadar geçen süre zarfında yayılması neticesinde ortaya çıkmıştır.
