Özet:

This study deals with the representation of the femininity discourse produced through digital platforms, one of the mass media, through the concept of Mothers Day and the notion of non-motherhood. The content of the study consists of the content about non-motherhood, published by digital platforms on the occasion of Mothers Day. dunyabizim.com, uplifers.com and bianet.org are the three digital platforms in question. A qualitative content analysis research was conducted on themes such as femininity, motherhood, non-motherhood, and childlessness in the texts created on these platforms. The relevance of the way these issues are presented on the platforms and the general attitude of the platforms has been questioned, and as a result, it has been revealed what kind of social construction these themes have created. In the content on the dunyabizim.com page, motherhood is accepted on an essentialist basis, non-motherhood was read through the feeling of sadness and evaluated with a spiritual content. In the content of uplifers.com, the second platform, women who are not not yet mothers were included in the agenda, and the demand for their recognition was expressed on the occasion of the celebration of Mothers Day. The third and last platform, bianet.org, is based on the manifesto published by the Flying Broom Association Uçan Süpürge Kadın İletişim ve Araştırma Derneği on the occasion of Mothers Day, and the choice of not being a mother voluntarily was brought to the agenda and the issue of motherhood was interpreted in the axis of bio-politics and resistance.
