Özet:

The fact that the local people should be included in the process of developing plans for the development of tourism is a matter that the majority of researchers agree. However, it can be said that the application of this prerequisite is not possible in various destinations for various reasons. The lack of awareness of the roles of the local people in the planning process is one of the obstacles to the public participation in the planning process, especially in developing countries. The purpose of the study in this direction is the revealing of the opinions of the local people in Konya province regarding to the participation of the regional tourism planning decision process. For this purpose, questionnaire was applied to 386 individuals in Konya province by face-to-face interview with easy sampling method. In the study, easy sampling method was preferred, which is one of the non-random sampling methods. As a result of the research, it is concluded that the local people living in Konya want to participate in the tourism development process. However, they are of the opinion that it is acceptable to take part in this process from time to time. In this opinion, the low level of tourism knowledge and awareness of the people is the main factor.

Turizmin
geliştirilmesine yönelik planların oluşturulma sürecine yerel halkın dahil
edilmesinin gerekliliği hususu araştırmacıların büyük çoğunluğunun hemfikir
olduğu bir husustur. Ancak bu önkoşulun uygulanmasının bazı destinasyonlarda
çeşitli nedenlerden dolayı mümkün olamadığı söylenebilir. Planlama sürecinde
yerel halkın alabileceği rollere ilişkin farkındalıklarının olmaması özellikle
gelişmekte olan ülkelerde halkın planlama sürecine dahil olmasının önündeki
engellerden birisidir.
