Özet:

The play Hilda is a representative example for a study of the discourse of the dramatic character, in the case of the play, the absent character, since the plays eponymous character never appears or speaks on stage. The characters present, Mrs Lemarchand, her husband, Franck and her sister Corinne, speak in her place, and it is through their speech that the reader imagines Hilda. As part of the study of the dramatic character, this paper sets out to study the discourse in Hilda in order to understand the exercise of power over women by women, the alienation of women through discourse and the transformation of the speaking character into an instrument of totalitarianism, in an attempt to provide relevant answers with a view to dealing in particular with the discourse of the character in crisis, but also that of the playwright.
