Özet:

In the literature of the basic field of architecture, it has been determined that the concept of Task Lighting does not have a comprehensive definition, it is not included in the majority of dictionaries specific to the discipline of architecture, and other concepts can be used instead of it. This situation can lead to confusion of meaning, especially in scientific writings. In this study, it is hypothesized that this concept can be analyzed through its relationship with other lighting types and explained together with its essential features. In the process of the study, firstly, how the concept of Task Lighting is defined in the literature was discussed, and for this purpose, the sources where lighting types are defined were analyzed. The data obtained were evaluated by Rodgers developmental concept analysis and Walker and Avants concept analysis method. In the process, it was aimed to discuss the information continuously in order to make a comprehensive and accurate definition, and for this reason, the grounded theory method was utilized, which offers an important perspective on the expression of concepts. As a result of the study, it was understood that the types of lighting examined can be used interchangeably and can contain the definitional equivalents of each other. Another result is that the definitions of lighting are based on the most prominent features of these lighting types. As a result of the study, it was seen that Task Lighting has the characteristics of being oriented towards a specific function, being user-oriented, facilitating the completion of functions, improving visual perception and making dangerous situations visible. Another feature of this type of lighting is that it is business and user-oriented and is used in professionalpersonal workspaces and commercial areas.
