Özet:

Homa is a unique name used by the Zazas for the concept of God. There are also variants of this name such as Hum, Haoma, Soma, Som, Saoma, which is used in a wide geography outside the places where Zazas live. Homa refers to an herb that is eaten or boiled and drunk. In the course of time, the drink made from this herb gained a divine character and began to represent the power and strength of the god. Although they have different names in different geographies, Hum-Homa has been used in close meanings. Soma, which represents an herb that is mostly boiled and drunk in India, takes the form of Homa in Iranian geography. This concept, which is referred to as Hum in the Avesta, is referred to as an ascetic in Zoroastrianism, and as Humê Abid in the Shahnameh. The aim of this study is to analyze the meaning and function of the word Homa with a diachronic method, to search for traces of this word in ancient texts and to explain its usage in Zazaki. The study examines the root of the word Homa in Indian and Iranian texts, explains the variants of this word and analyzes the functions attributed to the word. Utilizing previous studies, examples from Zazaki sources on the subject are given. Methods and techniques such as explanation, witnessing and exemplification were used in the study.
