Özet:

The impact of climate change is not just an increase in temperatures. Plants, animals and ecosystems as well as human communities are at serious risk as a result of factors such as the increase in the frequency and impact of extreme weather events such as drought, floods, severe hurricanes, rise in ocean and sea water levels, increase in the acidity of the oceans, and the melting of glaciers. Various drought periods have occurred throughout human history. Turkey, which is located in a semi-arid climate region, has faced drought in the past, and since drought will occur more frequently and severely with global climate change in the near future, it will be more dangerous than today. In general, all plants need soil, water, sunlight to grow. If one of them is insufficient or not, the plant cannot complete its development. In this study, it will be tried to determine how the drought, which is one of the results of the climate change in 2021, affects the farmers of Erzurum province. Measures that producers try to take in the face of climate drought has been tried to be revealed.
In the study, the data obtained through questionnaires from 107 farmers who own tractors in Erzurum center and its districts in 2021 will constitute the primary data source. In this study, it will be tried to determine the effects of the drought experienced by the farmers this year and what precautions they took for 2022 by interviewing the farmers in Erzurum one-on-one and asking some questions to the producers. For this purpose, the sample volume; It was determined by proportional sampling method. In determining the sample size, 90 percent confidence interval and 5 percent margin of error were used.
As a result of the research, there was a 3% to 72% yield loss in plant production in the 2020-2021 production season in Erzurum. In the same production period, increases between 25% and 134% occurred in input costs. Drought showed itself in the form of cold weather and changes in precipitation regime.
