Özet:

Dictionaries are like ore mines, in that they contain vocabulary of language one of the greatest values any nation has. Many dictionaries were and have been written about the dialects of Turkish from past to present. In this study, dictionaries that we frequently use in studies on the languages spoken by the Karachay-Balkar Turks. Thirty-five Karachay-Balkar dictionaries were examined from many aspects, especially content, purpose of writing, form, and method. These dictionaries include annotated, bilingual, proverb, idiom, term, quote, spelling, noun, thematic and linguistic dictionaries, as well as phrasebooks. The aim of the study is to introduce the dictionaries of Karachay-Balkar Turkic, which are the guarantee and the biggest indicator of its vocabulary, and to demonstrate that this dialect is as sufficient and rich as other Turkic dialects on which numerous studies have been conducted, in terms of its vocabulary and sources. Because the research on Karachay-Balkar Turkic is not as intense as on other dialects, this may leads to a misconception that the vocabulary of this dialect is not as rich as the vocabulary of other Turkic dialects, on which a lot of research has been done.
