Özet:

Transhumance culture is one of the important and traditional Anatolian nomadic culture lifestyles, which has been adapted in the climatic and environmental context of Mediterranean Basin throughout centuries onwards. In this sense, the traditional movements of this significant living heritage which continues between the Mediterranean plains and Taurus Mountains can be claimed as the transformation of Anatolian nomadic culture derived from Central Asian step-based culture and adapted into Mediterranean context pictured by Braudel. There have been various factors which have formed and shaped the traditional transhumance in historic ages. Within the light of this information, the purpose of this article is to research cultural heritage values of traditional transhumance lifestyles and their cultural context based on Erdemli and its environs located in central Taurus Mountains and understand their adaptation into environmental and climatic context with continuities and changes.
