Özet:

Today, sustainability and environmentally friendly practices are becoming increasingly important. In this context, the reuse of waste materials aims to use resources more efficiently by minimizing harmful environmental impacts. This requires the conscious use of natural resources and the adoption of environmentally sound practices at a time when the emphasis on recycling materials is increasing. Paper production and consumption can raise environmental concerns, so sustainable paper production and recycling issues are of paramount importance. Creating a sustainable community using recycled paper can be achieved not only by implementing recycling processes but also by incorporating environmental, economic and social sustainability. The reuse of waste paper not only provides environmental advantages but also offers a new ground for artistic creativity. This study aims to both raise environmental awareness and expand the boundaries of art by revealing the potential of waste paper in painting and printmaking techniques. This article examines how waste paper interacts with painting techniques such as pastel, charcoal, watercolor, acrylic and oil painting. In addition, the effects of printmaking techniques such as linoleum printing, gravure printing, lithography printing, screen printing and cyanotype printing on waste paper are also examined. From this point of view, the problem statement of the research was determined as How is the applicability of the papers obtained by recycling waste papers with painting and printmaking techniques?. Within the scope of the method part of the research, the applicability of painting and printmaking techniques on papers obtained from waste paper was investigated and the products that emerged after the technical trials were evaluated within the scope of design and development research. The results obtained showed that papers produced from waste paper can be a suitable alternative for painting and printmaking techniques. In addition, it is envisaged that by raising awareness about the recycling and waste management process, the utilization of paper waste in homes, schools and commercial areas can be encouraged, thus creating a sustainable society model.
