Özet:

DP was founded on January 7, 1946 and has been an important political party in Turkish political life since its foundation. As a result of the 1950 general elections, the DP put an end to the 27-year rule of the CHP and thus began its 10-year ruling adventure in Turkish political life. As a result of the May 14, 1950 General Election, the DP came to power, renewed this success in the 1954 and 1957 elections and succeeded in staying in power by being deemed worthy of the publics trust again. Between 1950 and 1960, when the DP was in power, significant changes and developments were observed in the administrative division in general and locally. At the point of these changes and developments, administrative division changes were of great importance. The subject of the study includes the administrative division changes in Niğde between 1950-1960, when the DP was in power. The main sources of the study are TÜİK data, provincial yearbooks, documents of the State Archives of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, as well as copyright and research works on the subject. As a result of the information and documents obtained, the administrative division of Niğde during the DP period was evaluated and analyzed.
