Özet:

A mythical productions, which were seen as manifestations of mans search for meaning, were crushed under therightful fame of science and were discredited as imaginary or fictional nonsense of the past. After the 19th century, especially under the influence of psychological theories, this language, based on metaphor and allegory, gained value as the symbolic expression of some realities. The hidden meanings underlying these symbols are from psychology, art, sociology, etc. It has attracted the attention of many fields. Myths, which serve as keys to dream interpretations and image studies, have gained functionality in a wide range of areas, from archetypal psychology and artistic works to advertising activities. With his works focusing on the story of the hero, Joseph Campbell put forward the concept of monomyth and argued that people in different parts of the world, at different times, produced almost the same products. While the human spirit being the same almost everywhere creates universal themes, religious, social and historical reasons have created some differences in these themes. Identifying the distinctive elements of a culture and social structure is as important as finding the standard pattern that has archetypal value. In this study, Dede Korkut Stories, which are the cornerstone of Turkish history, will be examined based on Joseph Champbells work titled The Heros With a Thousand Faces In examining the stories, the hero biographies of Otto Rank and Lord Raglan will be touched upon and each stage will be evaluated in terms of its own dynamics. The aim of the study is to determine the dynamics of the Turkish hero.
