Özet:

In the last 20 years, yacht sailing in Turkey has experienced significant growth both economically and in tourism. As interest in sailing has increased, the number of marinas and short-term boat rental companies has risen noticeably, allowing domestic and international tourists to explore Turkeys naturabeauty while boosting the regions economic vitality. However, the surge in demand, despite the rise in marina numbers, has led to a significant increase in marina fees, creating economic challenges for some sailors and raising environmental concerns. The growing yacht fleets impact on the marine ecosystem needs careful consideration in terms of sustainable sailing and marine tourism. Moreover, yacht races and international events have strengthened Turkeys potential in sailing sports and its position globally. Over the next twenty years, technological advancements, sustainability requirements, and heightened environmental awareness are expected to transform yacht fleets, with electric and hybrid yachts replacing diesel engines for a more eco-friendly maritime sector. Autonomous systems and artificial intelligence will enhance smart yachts and safe navigation, improving energy efficiency and enabling longer-range voyages. Sustainability practices, including eco-friendly production methods, recyclable materials, and advanced biological treatment systems, will also become central to the industry. As digitalization accelerates, the short-term boat rental sector will grow through innovative models like shared yacht usage, and stricter environmental regulations will be implemented to minimize the impact of yacht operations. This transformation will contribute to maritime education and the training of new generations of sailors, fostering a more responsible yachting industry.
