Özet:

Within the framework of export-based growth strategies, technology production and export is one of the important tools of economic growth and development. Nowadays, when technology is a part of everyday life, almost all countries are involved in producing and exporting technology. In this context, it can be said that the distinguishing factor in technology production and export is the production and export of high-tech products. In this study, 40 leading countries in high-tech exports were selected as the sample, and the competitiveness of the countries in the sector between 2012 and 2019 was analyzed with the most recent data obtained with The Revealed Comparative Advantage And Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage Indexes. As a result of the research, it was found that Asian countries, especially China and the Chinese special administrative region Hong Kong, have a comparative advantage or, in other words, competitiveness in high technology exports. In contrast, no country maintains its comparative advantage among the EU countries except France, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Finally, it was determined that 22 countries in the research sample, including the USA, did not have a comparative advantage.
