Özet:

ABSTRACT Futurism emerged as a rebellion against traditional art under the influence of industrialization, technology and social transformations, at the beginning of the 20th century. Filippo Tommaso Marinetti published Futurist Manifesto in 1909 , in his book he adopted a new understanding of art; centered on speed, violence, movement and technology. Artists such as Umberto Boccioni, Carlo Carrà, Luigi Russolo rejected the past and placed the dynamism of the era at the heart of art. Aims of this research is to analyze the principles and elements of art such as rhythm and harmony, while examining the historical and contextual aspects of Futurism. In this study; qualitative research was made and three important Futurist works were examined and it was revealed how rhythm and harmony are expressed in visual compositions. As a result, futurist artists have created a harmonious integrity between the pieces by shaping speed and movement with rhythmic repetitions, juxtapositions and visual continuity.
