Özet:

The works that describe the lives of the prophets from Adam to Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, their missionary activities, and some important events experienced by their people are generally called the history of the prophets. Twenty-eight prophets are mentioned in the Quran, three of whom are controversial. The stories of these prophets are narrated. The stories of some prophets are told in detail, while the lives of others are summarized. Some of the events related to the prophets whose stories are mentioned in the Quran are also mentioned in the Torah and the Bible. By combining the narrations taken from the Quran with the stories in the Quran and including them in tafsir, history and some hadith books within a certain system, the texts of the Qisas al-anbiya came into existence and the first independent examples of this genre in Islamic culture began to be written from the second century of Hijri. The most famous Arabic works in this field are the Qisāʾī d. 189805 and Saʿlābīs d. 1035 qisas al-anbiya. Later books on the history of the prophets are translations or summaries of these two works. The first known Turkish work in this genre was written by Rabgūzī Nāṣiruddīn d. after 7101310 under the title Kısas al-anbiyā. After Rabgūzī, many more Turkish qisas al-anbiya were written in verse or in prose, whose author is known or unknown. One of the works written in the genre of short stories of anbiya in our literature is Şevket Gavsîs Manzum Tarih-i Enbiyâ. The work was published in Arabic script in 1896. In the work, the first part of which is available for now, there is information about the prophets from the Prophet Adam to the Prophet Hud. The work of 301 couplets, which begins with a verse on the Besmele, is written in the form of mesnevi and in aruz meter. There are 13 poem titles in the 46-page work, which continues with the sections of tawhid, naat, çehar-yar and methiye depending on the tradition of classical literature. In this study, Şevket Gavsîs Manzum Tarih-i Enbiyâ will be analyzed in terms of its form and content, and the translated text of the verse will be given at the end of the study.

Hz. Edebiyatımızda kısas-ı enbiya türünde yazılan eserlerden biri de Şevket Gavsînin Manzum Tarih-i Enbiyâsıdır. Eser 1896 yılında Arap harfleriyle yayımlanmıştır. Şimdilik ilk bölümüne ulaşılabilen eserde Hazret-i Âdemden Hazret-i Huda kadar olan peygamberler hakkında bilgi vardır.
