Özet:

Türkiye has been receiving mass migration for more than ten years due to the problems in the surrounding countries. Millions of irregular migrants, especially from Syria, Afghanistan and Iran, took refuge in Türkiye. These migration movements that occur in masses can cause negative attitudes or judgments towards irregular migrants due to social cohesion problems in society or the effect of bad news in the media. Xenophobia, which is defined as fear of foreigners, and fear of crime against irregular migrants are among these attitudes. In this study, which focuses on the xenophobia and fear of crime against migrants and adopts the quantitative research method, a survey study was conducted in Izmir. In the study, the fear levels of the participants towards irregular migrants were measured, and it was observed that the participants associated irregular migrants with crime rates and hesitated to interact with them.

Türkiye, on yılı aşkın süredir çevre ülkelerde yaşanan siyasi olaylar sebebiyle kitlesel olarak göç almaktadır.
