Özet:

This study examines the concept of Mahdism, a significant element in Islamic thought, through the lens of Hoca-zâde Muhammed Rasims treatise Ahvâl-i Mehdî. It analyzes controversial issues and interpretations surrounding the belief in the Mahdî within the Islamic world. The study reveals that the Mahdî concept extends beyond Islamic references, with similar figures appearing in various cultures and belief systems, highlighting the lack of consensus in contemporary discussions. In Islamic thought, both the authenticity and the identity of the Mahdî have been subjects of debate. Hoca-zâdes treatise stands out as an original text, compiling diverse views on the Mahdîs identity and carefully presenting related sources. The study evaluates Hoca-zâdes perspectives on Mahdism, aiming to bring attention to this work for scholars. The findings demonstrate that his treatise is a crucial source that illuminates the Mahdî concept within the Islamic intellectual context of its time. This study makes a valuable contribution to the academic analysis of classical texts and to determining the place of such works within the history of Islamic thought.
