 Urbanization and the rapid development in transportation networks bring many environmental problems. One of the most important among these is the noise problem. Noise from transportation creates serious problems on the quality of life and health of people due to its uninterrupted and continuous nature. The legal regulation aimed at reducing these negative effects was renewed and published in 2022 with the title of Environmental Noise Control Regulation. Noise maps in the legislation provide the determination of areas with sound levels exceeding the limits by calculating the average sound levels of a region. In this context, road traffic noise estimation models used in noise mapping are discussed in the research. In the first stage, in the literature, field studies comparing the Common European Noise Assessment Model and other estimation models were examined. In the second stage, Common European Noise Assessment Model and other selected estimation models NMPB-Routes2008, CRTN, RLS 90, SonROAD 18 and FHWA TNM were compared within the scope of technical parameters. As a result, the use of the Common European Noise Assessment Model in noise mapping was found to be positive due to obtaining comparable data in the study, but it was emphasized that the results obtained should be supported by measurements.

 Kentleşme ve buna paralel olarak ulaşım ağlarındaki hızlı gelişme, beraberinde pek çok çevresel problemi getirmektedir. Bunlar arasında en önemlilerinden biri de gürültü sorunudur. Ulaşım kaynaklı gürültüler, kesintisiz ve devamlı olması sebebiyle insanların yaşam kalitesi ve sağlığı üzerinde ciddi problemler yaratmaktadır. Bu olumsuz etkilerin azaltılmasına yönelik yasal düzenleme; yenilenerek 2022 yılında Çevresel Gürültü Kontrol Yönetmeliği başlığı ile yayımlanmıştır. Mevzuatta yer alan gürültü haritaları; bir bölgenin ortalama ses düzeylerinin hesaplanarak, limitleri aşan ses düzeylerine sahip alanların belirlenmesini sağlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda araştırmada, gürültü haritalamada yararlanılan karayolu trafik gürültü kestirim modelleri ele alınmıştır. Araştırmada ilk aşamada; literatürde Avrupa Ortak Gürültü Değerlendirme CNOSSOS-EU modeli ile diğer kestirim modellerinin karşılaştırıldığı alan çalışmaları incelenmiştir. İkinci aşamada; CNOSSOS-EU ve seçilen diğer kestirim modelleri NMPB-Routes2008, CRTN, RLS 90, SonROAD 18 ve FHWA TNM teknik parametreler kapsamında karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak çalışmada, karşılaştırılabilir veriler elde edilmesi nedeniyle gürültü haritalamalarında CNOSSOS-EU modelinin kullanılması olumlu bulunmuş, ancak elde edilen sonuçların ölçümlerle desteklenmesi gerektiği vurgulanmıştır.
