Özet:

The famous Turkish Sufi poet Mawlānā Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī is one of those rare figures who had a profound mastery of both Persian and Arabic, leaving an indelible impact on large audiences not only during his life time but also throughout centuries. In Mawlānās intellectual and literary world, Abū al-Tayyib al-Mutanabbī d. 965, a prominent figure of classical Arabic poetry the author of the divan that Shams-i Tabrizi asked Mawlānā to stop reading, was a significant influence through both his poetry and his philosophical ideas. It is understood that Mawlānā read Arabic poetry extensively, as demonstrated by his mastery in depicting deserts, oases, and villages, as well as the quotations he made from certain poets. Indeed, the influence of Mutanabbī is clearly seen in both Diwān-i Kabīr and Masnavī. The aim of this study is to examine the traces and influences of the famous Arab poet Abū al-Tayyib al-Mutanabbī on Rūmī, especially in the literary and philosophical context, by considering the historical process of Rūmī s literary life. This study uses various research methods such as comparative literary method, intertextual analysis, philosophical comparison and historical-cultural context analysis. It aims to compare the poets in terms of language and theme, to reveal the intertextual relations and to discuss the effects of the works of both poets on society in the historical context. In addition, the similarities and differences between the styles and narrative forms of both poets are also discussed in detail with linguistic analysis. The study reveals a significant literary interaction between Mawlānā and Mutanabbī. Although the worldviews and poetic perspectives of these two poets are different, it has been determined that Mutanabbīs themes of individual freedom and heroism, combined with Mawlānās deep thoughts on existence, humanity and God in his Sufi understanding, produce new meanings.
