Özet:

The fact that women in rural areas play an active role in agricultural activities, but are officially more in the background, the general socio-structure of rural women and their most important problems in rural areas from their own perspectives were examined in this research. 379 women living in rural areas in Düziçin district of Osmaniye province were interviewed. A survey was conducted if rural women were actively involved in agricultural work. According to the research findings, it was determined that rural women got married at an early age and their education levels were quite low. While they played an active role in agricultural activities, it was determined that animal husbandry was intensively done, especially in line with the conditions of the region. It was determined that they were also active in animal husbandry and the sale of animal products. It was determined that rural women did not see the agricultural income they earned as economic freedom, but as the income of the household and saw it as support for their spouses or additional income for the household. While the importance given to education by women with low participation in agricultural cooperatives or seminars was the most important deficiency to be suggested in this research, it was determined that the biggest problem in the eyes of rural women was health conditions.
