Özet:

In addition to being an important tradition based on the human voice with its spoken works, traditional Turkish music also offers freedom to instrumentalists in various forms. When we look at instrumental music and improvisations as a place where performers can showcase their experience and skills, there is no need to move away from the traditional path and look for innovations. Ney, which has existed for thousands of years, shows its presence in modern music apart from the traditional style. This change of the ney sound, which has almost become a need, has turned into a process of existence with the search for innovation by its performers. This research deals with the musical approach of the Ney instrument in orchestration, which is sought after in western music orchestras and has become an important voice in these orchestras in the transformation of modern music. The impacts of societal and cultural changes on a traditional instrument such as Ney and its subsequent consequences on its musical progress and historical development were analyzed in this research.
