Özet:

Exports of agricultural products are an important factor for economic growth in Turkiye. Turkiye is one of the worlds leading producers and exporters of agricultural products. Exports of agricultural products contribute positively to Turkiyes foreign trade balance. Exports of agricultural products can strengthen the countrys foreign exchange reserves and balance of payments by increasing foreign exchange inflows. In other words, agricultural exports make a significant contribution to Turkiyes international trade balance and foreign exchange earnings. This situation can lead Turkiye to a more solid position in international economic relations. As a matter of fact, exports of agricultural products play a critical role in terms of opening the agricultural sector to foreign markets and supporting economic growth. This study aims to examine the relationship between exports of agricultural products and economic growth by using the time series analysis method with structural breaks with annual data for the period 1990-2020 for Turkiye. In the econometric analysis, firstly, according to the results of ADF, PP, KPSS and Zivot-Andrews ZA unit-root tests, the series became stationary when the first difference was taken. Based on the results of Gregory and Hansen 1996 co-integration test, the existence of a co-integration relationship between the series is proved. The results of the Toda-Yamamoto causality test indicate that there is a bidirectional causality relationship between agricultural product exports and per capita income in Turkiye for the relevant period.
