Özet:

Ahmed Muharrem was an Egyptian poet of Turkish origin who dedicated his life to poetry and literature. Following the 1917 Balfour Declaration, issued by Britain and paving the way for the occupation of Palestine, he dedicated a significant portion of his poignant poetry to the suffering of Palestine. Many of his poems on Nekbetu Filistin and Al-Aqsa Mosque were compiled by his son, Mahmoud Ahmed, into a 94-page work titled Dîvânul-Aksâl-hazîn, which was published in 1984. The book contains a total of nine qasidaspoems. Ahmed Muharrem used his poetry as a tool of struggle, calling for jihad and resistance, encouraging Muslims to support the Palestinian cause. By recalling the great heroism of the early Islamic era, he sought to inspire contemporary Muslims to take action in saving their Palestinian brothers and sisters. After the abolition of the caliphate in 1924, he criticized Muslims for abandoning the caliph and supporting colonial powers, emphasizing the necessity of Arab unity. He warned Arab nations about the dangers of division and Zionist expansion, urging the public to defend Palestine and uplift their morale. This study examines Ahmed Muharrems life, literary identity, and his views on Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque as reflected in Dîvânul-Aksâl-hazîn. In doing so, it aims to introduce the ideas of a Turkish-origin poet in modern Egyptian literature to academic circles, particularly in Turkey. Additionally, it seeks to highlight how the writers and poets of that era skillfully and effectively addressed social and political issues through their artistic expressions.
