Özet:

Among Old Uyghur documents written in Turkish with the Old Uyghur alphabet, there are personal and official letters more than two hundred fragments which are preserved in various libraries around the world, most of which are in Berlin. All of the old Uyghur letters were written on paper. According to the information given by Takao Moriyasu in COUL Corpus of the Old Uighur Letters from the Eastern Silk Road, the letters were written using rather reed or wooden pens rather than writing brushes, and the ink is similar to that used in China. An important part of the Uyghur letters were unearthed in the famous Thousand Buddha Caves in Turfan in the Uyghur Autonomous Region of China and Dunhuang in Kansu in the XXth century. Few of the letters were found in the Qarahoto. The Old Uyghur document analyzed interpreted in this study is an official letter petition. This letter type manuscript is registered and preserved in the Turfan Collection of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences with catalog number U 5994 COUL no. 10. It was first reviewed and published in Simone-Christiane Raschmanns study in 2009, and later in Takao Moriyasus corpus, which compiled, reviewed and classified the Old Uyghur letters in 2019. The paleographic information of this Uyghur document written in the form of a petition was given by the two mentioned researchers in their previous studies. Since there are vague traces of vertical-horizontal folds on this official letter or simple petition paper, whose date of writing and from whom to whom it was written, it is thought that this petition was really sent to anyone. The petition is written in semi-square block semi-cursive writing as twelve lines on the front page of the paper and the back side is blank. Takao Moriyasu, who was able to identify the opening and ending patterns, although the first and last lines were completely missing and incomprehensible except for a few readable words, wrote the phrase Type A type A about the word pattern of this petition. Simone-Christiane Raschmann, in the second part of his scientific work, which can be translated as Old Turkish Manuscripts Chapter 14, Documents, states that this fragment, which he processed at number 402, is Brief letter, but the note ötüg bitig, in other words, petition, letter of request, was given to Takao Moriyasu. or by reference. In this article, new reading and interpretation suggestions were made about the Old Uyghur fragment numbered U 5994, which was tried to be examined in detail.
