Özet:

Aquaculture has become a rapidly growing sector due to its current potential around the world, the benefits it offers, and its contribution to meeting global food needs, employment, and local economies. Turkey has become one of the countries where aquaculture production and exports based on it have increased significantly. Rainbow trout farming is the leading and driving force in this sector. The limitation of natural resources and pollution and deterioration in the ecological balance, resulting from their use, have made it necessary to establish a rule and order, certification, and inspection of aquaculture activities due to market and consumer demands. GLOBALGAP-AQUA and the Aquaculture Management Council ASC, which carries out certification and control of aquaculture on a global level, are also active in Turkey. This study especially focused on environmental and water quality management was carried out in rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss farms with GLOBALGAP-AQUA and ASC certification in the Southwest Anatolia Region. The benefits, successes, and problems of certification applications have been tried to be determined. For this purpose, on-site observations and examinations were made in the selected enterprises, face-to-face surveys were made with the relevant personnel of the facilities, the versions of the certifications were examined, and evaluations were made. According to the surveys, success in certifications is to obtain traceable and sustainable products 31.1, increase the production amount, increase the facility and product quality, and provide marketing advantages. As the benefits of certifications were listed to provide and enhance export, employment, and foreign currency input to the country 17.8, increasing efficiency of environment and water quality management, and workers health and welfare. The main shortcomings of certifications were highlighted as the high cost of water quality analysis 41.03, bureaucratic obstacles, pollution from production, the inadequacy of facility inspection, lack of certification training for technical staff, insufficient cooperation between research institutions and facilities.
