Özet:

Rapid population growth and urbanization have put great pressure on urban infrastructure and resources, necessitating the search for innovative solutions through technology integration. Smart city applications are one of these innovative solutions. It is observed that studies in this field have increased in Turkey in recent years. However, despite this increase, Turkeys smart city applications also face some shortcomings. Considering that smart city implementation strategies differ across countries, it is necessary to analyze the studies on smart city applications in Turkey more systematically and formulate strategies. This study aims to evaluate smart city applications in Turkey. For this purpose, SWOT and SWARA methodologies were utilized. The findings indicate priority areas that should be considered in strategic planning processes for the effective management and development of smart city applications in Turkey. In order to successfully implement these applications, strengths and opportunities need to be effectively assessed and weaknesses and threats need to be minimized. It is important to increase government support, develop high-tech capability, and diversify local and international investment sources to address investment shortfalls. These recommendations will contribute to the effective and sustainable implementation of these practices and will help Turkey to reach a more advanced level in these practices.
