Özet:

Many studies have been done on humor until today, and the concept has been adequately examined from a folkloric, mythological or historical perspective. Based on general definitions, the following conclusion can be made immediately: Humor is both an action specific to humans and the ability to look at events with fun. At the same time, as a form of reaction to an effect, it varies according to individuals and societies. In addition to individual differences, social differences affect the perception and expression of humor. Naturally, these differences between nations; history, language, culture, memory perception, literature, education, etc. It arises from many understandings and the variability of social facts. These facts determine the content of the humor element as well as the way it is used and its application areas. Although humor varies according to societies, the final conclusion of humor is common. This conclusion becomes concrete with the act of laughing. Although laughing is a result-oriented action, what one laughs at is also very important. The factors that play a role in the choice here are the differences of linguistic worlds and cultural identities and the type and form of expression of the thing being laughed at. At this stage, another factor that shows the humorous predisposition of the society emerges. This is whether the relevant language and the supporting elements of the language are prone to humor. The main problematic of this study is to comprehend the commonality feature of humor, which is seen as common sense. In addition to this, the suitability of language for humor as a mediation, the effect of cultural differences on humor and the extent to which humor is effective on universal codes are tried to be understood. The change in the perception of humor in Turkish and German societies in different periods has been focused on, the humor tendency of the language of both societies has been compared structurally and contextually, the basic themes that constitute the content of humor or laughter have been determined and evaluated in their own contexts Turkish and German cultures.
