Özet:

This study aims at revealing how the professional experiences of the social workers employed in Family Courts, who often face with problematic family patterns due to the nature of their work, affect their attitude towards the marriage and family union. The qualitative research patterns were used in this study, and under the study, indepth interviews were made with 24 social workers who have served at least for one year in the courthouses affiliated to Istanbul province. The findings obtained from the field survey were handled around 4 main themes. The study results have demonstrated that working in Family Courts is an important determining factor in formation of the marriage and family perceptions of the social workers. It is seen that the experiences of the social workers in their professional life have some positive and negative reflections on their marriage and family life. It is remarkable that the negative effects are observed more on the single social workers compared to the married social workers.
