Özet:

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of family environment, nutritional self-efficacy and nutritional attitudes on health perception in adolescent Muay Thai athletes. In the study, the relational screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. A total of 164 adolescent Muay Thai athletes, 101 men and 63 women, participated in the study. Child Nutrition Self-Efficacy Scale, Nutrition Attitude Scale, Family Environment Scale and Health Perception Forms were used to collect data from the participants. Research data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 IBM package. Normality was tested through Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. One-Way ANOVA test conducted to the groups that are more than two. Pearson correlation analysis used for determining the presence and direction among the scales, and the validity and reliability of the scales calculated through Cronbach Alpha internal-consistency coefficients. In the comparison of nutritional self-efficacy and family environment values of the adolescent Muay Thai athletes participating in the study according to their gender and health beliefs, it was observed that while the health beliefs of male participants affected their nutritional self-efficacy levels, unity and solidarity in the family environment, control sub-dimension was not affected p0,05. On the other hand, women participants health beliefs were observed to affect solidarity and unity in the family environment p0,05. As a result, it can be said that as health beliefs and family unity levels increase, nutritional attitudes and nutritional self-efficacy levels also increase.
