Özet:

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of the democratic transition process in Turkey following the abolition of the absolute monarchy system that had been in place for centuries under the Ottoman sultans, with the proclamation of the Second Constitutional Era. The study primarily focuses on the Second Constitutional Era, evaluating both the positive and negative democratic developments during this period, along with the electoral periods and political events. The direct effects of the Second Constitutional Era on the Republic period are presented in terms of democratic and anti-democratic developments. The data, obtained from secondary sources, is analyzed through a comparative method between the Ottoman Second Constitutional Era and the early Republic period. The rapid changes in democratization, political party formation, womens movements, and electoral processes during this period deeply impacted Turkeys political structure. The study provides important insights into the effects of these democratic struggles on Turkey, helping to understand the roots of Turkeys democratization process. A distinctive analysis of the effects of the Second Constitutional Era on Turkey adds significant value to this research.
