Özet:

The concept of insanity, which has to accept the discourses produced for itself by different periods until it meets the meanings it expresses today, has been expressed in different ways such as being mentally unstable, lack of mental health or understanding ability, and displaying irrational attitudes. Apart from basic physiological reasons such as heredity and genetics, there are various factors that lead the individual to insanity. The act of falling in love, which is one of these factors, causes the individual to change psychologically or physically and to show different behavioral patterns. As a result of the act of falling in love, which neutralizes the consciousness, the act of displaying a balanced attitude in the individual is damaged and the individual turns into an obsessive, passionate personality that acts outside the social norms. The aspect of the act of falling in love that drives one to madness has also found its place in literary works; The insane individual and his insanity state are expressed with different concepts. In the works of the Chagatai Turkish period, which form the framework of our study, these concepts are met with words such as tentik, şeyda, mecnun, sağın, sankı, tilbe, geçe, cinli. In our study, the works of Chagatai Turkish period were scanned and couplets about madness and madness were determined. Expressions taken per item in alphabetical order are listed together with selected examples from the work, couplet numbers and explanations. In addition, in the scanned works as a result of our study, it has been seen that the concepts such as cünûn, dîvâne, tilbe, şeydâ are used more commonly, and concepts such as mecẕūb, geçe, çil, sağın, sankı, cinli, dîv-bâd, dîv-veş are less preferred.
