Özet:

The study area is located in the Upper Murat-Van section of the Eastern Anatolia Region. The site is located within the administrative borders of Van province, which is located in the east of Türkiye and neighboring Iran. In this study, by using SWOT analysis, the existing potential of the site was discussed and evaluated in terms of physical geography. According to the results of SWOT analysis, the upper reaches of Özalp River, Karasu River and Çaybağı River are rich in pasture potential. The wind energy potential of the south of the area and the high areas on the Türkiye-Iran border is high. Currently, agriculture and animal husbandry activities are generally weakened in the area. Due to the location of the study area, the opening of the Kapıköy customs gate for transit trade is prioritized as an opportunity to create employment, while the risk of natural disasters such as earthquakes, drought, erosion and floods, as well as the migration of the rural population, unconscious and uncontrolled use of land, especially the destruction of wetlands and existing vegetation are understood to be threatsweaknesses. In this context, first of all, the problems arising from the natural environment-human relationship in the field were identified and solution proposals were presented.
