Özet:

This study aims to retrospectively evaluate the pathologies observed in thoracic radiographs of cats with trauma. An assessment of 102 cats revealed that the most common trauma causes were falls from heights 83.3 and traffic accidents 6.86. Among thoracic pathologies, conditions such as pleural effusion, pulmonary edema, and pneumothorax were prominent. The study emphasizes that radiography is a rapid and effective tool for diagnosing and managing thoracic pathologies in trauma patients. Thoracic radiography facilitates the swift detection of conditions such as pneumothorax, hemothorax, and rib fractures in traumatized cats, expediting the treatment process. Post-trauma, 93 of the patients survived, while 6.8 succumbed. In conclusion, thoracic radiography is the first-choice imaging modality for traumatized cats, with advanced imaging techniques serving as complementary tools when necessary.
