Özet:

In mass gatherings, particularly in sporting events such as football matches, various hazardous situations arise due to overcrowding, including stampedes ,fires, violence, and terorism, resulting in numerous injuries and fatalities. This study conducts a literature review on the subject and collects data from EM-DAT, an international database. The data is limited to the keywords football, stadium and football stadium between 1900-2023 providing information on incidents in matches held in football stadiums, the total deaths and the number of injured. As a result, a significant number of stampedes have occurred during football matches in stadiums from the past to the present.Since football stadiums are places where people gather for entertainment purposes, it is crucial to identify the risks associated with these stadiums during football matches. To ensure the safe management of crowds in all mass gatherings, a crowd management plan should be established. The creation of a crowd management plan will help mitigate risks stemming from overcrowding.
