Özet:

The research was carried out in the area called Iskenderun-Arsuz coastline, which covers the districts of Iskenderun, Arsuz, and Belen in Hatay. The main purpose of the study is to evaluate the natural and cultural landscape areas of the region in terms of visual landscape quality GPK. In addition, the relationship between the GPK value of the selected areas within the scope of the study and their preference for recreational activities was examined. A survey was conducted with 75 people in order to reveal how the visual landscape quality of landscape areas with different characteristics in the region is perceived and their effects on recreational preferences. For this purpose, 30 photographs representing areas with different landscape characteristics were used. The level of appreciation of the landscape areas of the participants, their relationship with the GPK criteria that affect their taste, and the effect of visual quality criteria on their preference for recreational activities were statistically demonstrated. Relationship and meaning analyses were made with the Spearman correlation test, and it was determined that the first three criteria for the appreciation of landscape areas were scenic beauty 0.730, recreational value 0.607, and naturalness 0.590.
