Özet:

Muhabbet-nâme is a poetic manuscript written in Khwarezm-Golden Horde Turkish by a poet with the pen name of Hârezmî in 754 H. 1353-1354 A.D.. The book was written at the request of Muhammed Hâce Big, one of the administrators of Canibek Khan 1342-1357, the ruler of the Golden Horde, in his palace on the banks of the Seyhun River. Muhabbet-nâme is originally written in 10 chapters; however, the copyist of the manuscript registered in the British Museum number Add. 7914 increased it to 11 chapters by making additions. Four copies of the book have been identified, one in Uyghur letters and three in Arabic letters. The two copies in the British Museum are published by Turkhan Ganjei 1958-1959, Aleksandr M. Şçerbak 1959 and Emir N. Nadjib 1961, and the two copies in the Ali Emiri Nation Library are published by Osman F. Sertkaya 1972. The last scientific publication of the book belongs to Yaşar Şimşek 2024. In the beginning of this work, Muhabbet nâme is introduced; spelling, phonology and morphology features are discussed. Then, the critical text prepared using four copies, the prose translation of the text, its index and a facsimile of the copy numbered Add. 7914 in the British Museum are presented. In Şimşeks publication, there are couplets with broken meter and rhyme, and some words and word groups that are misread and interpreted incorrectly. In this article, the deficiencies identified in the book are shown and alternative reading and interpretation suggestions are offered for some words. These suggestions are shown on the couplets taken from the transcribed text, and corrected couplets or translation suggestions are also given.
