Özet:

This article examines new data related to the Jeti-Asar culture monuments located in the northern part of the Syr Darya Seyhun from an art historical perspective. The information obtained from archaeological and ethnographic expeditions studying the Jeti-Asar cultural monuments, including runic inscriptions, ideograms, patterns, as well as anthropomorphic and zoomorphic objects and figures found in Altın-Asar, forms the basis of this study. These materials, which provide data on the rich material culture of the medieval Aral region, represent a largely under-researched and significant body of material that requires deep investigation and understanding from an art historical methodology standpoint. This article explores for the first time the evolutionary aspects and origins of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic images in Jeti-Asars small bronze sculptures. The study employs an integrative methodology that combines the comparative methods of archaeology and ethnography with an art historical perspective. The scientific novelty of this work lies in analyzing the anthropomorphic and zoomorphic images of medieval Jeti-Asar culture in terms of ritual imitations of totemic animals and the magical symbols of anthropomorphic representations on ceramics. This plays a key role in understanding the worldview system of the ethnic group that inhabited the Aral region during the medieval period. The main objective of the study is to examine the traditions of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic imagery as a reflection of the worldview of ethnic groups in the Aral region. To achieve this goal, tasks were carried out to identify and interpret the tools of visual and semantic expressiveness, as well as the compositional schemes and methods in the anthropomorphic and zoomorphic representations of medieval Jeti-Asar culture.
