Özet:

The earliest production of glass, which was not as cheap and common material in antiquity as it is today, ap-pears to be a core-formed technique. This technique, which we see examples of in Mesopotamia and Egypt in the 16th-15th century BC, was widely used in Greece, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Black Sea, Italy and Cyprus from the Classical and Hellenistic periods until the early 1st century AD. Forms such as alabastron, amphoriskos, aryballos, oinochoe, stamnos, stamnos, unguentarium, which are used as oil, cosmetic, medicine and perfume containers made according to a certain technique and usually in small sizes, were produced. Translucent or transparent turquoise, blue, blue-green, green and brown colored glass was usually decorated with zigzags, scallops, bands, feathers, wavy bands and spirals along with opaque yellow, light blue and white glass. In this study, eleven artifacts consisting of amphoriskos, alabastrons, unguentarium and kohl bottles with unknown provenance centers, which were acquired by the Adana Museum through purchase and confis-cation, were evaluated. In terms of color, form and ornamentation, similar examples from the Eastern Medi-terranean, Cyprus, Syria-Palestine, Rhodes, Egypt and Northwest Iran have been evaluated and it has been concluded that the Adana Museums Core-formed vessels date to the 6th-4th centuries BC-AD.
