In the research, the disaster preparations of merchants were investigated according to their education, age, marital status and income levels. One of the skills expected from merchants in international trade is crisis management skills. It is important for merchants with these skills to receive training in crisis management, as the precautions they take before, during and after a disaster can prevent loss of life and property. In the open system approach, the geographical characteristics of the region should be taken into consideration in the disaster preparedness plans of commercial organizations, which are likened to a living organism, and artificial intelligence technology, logistics 4.0 and the internet of things should be utilized to meet the constantly changing disaster needs due to global warming.
