Özet:

This study aims to examine the relationship between intergenerationally transmitted psychological trauma and family psychological resilience. This research, which employed a relational survey model, included 386 participants, 249 of whom were female and 137 of whom were male. The data collection tools comprised a Personal Information Form, the Transmitted Psychological Trauma Scale, and the Family Psychological Resilience Scale Short Form. For data analysis, Pearson Correlation, independent samples t-test, ANOVA, and post-hoc tests including Games-Howell and Scheffé tests were employed. The findings indicated a statistically significant, moderate, and negative correlation between participants scores on the Transmitted Psychological Trauma Scale and the Family Psychological Resilience Scale Short Form. It was observed that as the level of transmitted psychological trauma increased, the level of family psychological resilience decreased. The results of the study were discussed in light of the existing literature. In conclusion, the importance of evaluating intergenerationally transmitted psychological trauma in mental health services provided by professionals in the field was emphasized, along with the need to enhance family psychological resilience skills to promote healthy coping strategies for families. Various recommendations were provided within this context.
