 Tourism activities that contribute to globalization are carried out in line with the opportunities and preferences of individuals. In addition to age, gender, and occupation, economic, social, and cultural factors are also effective in the diversity of tourism activities. In this context, the participation of young people, who are curious to discover new places, who are in search of excitement and adventure, who express independence and freedom as a passion, who focus on getting to know themselves through experiences and who will determine the future of tourism, in tourism activities is essential. The importance of these tourism activities, which find their place in literature as youth tourism, increases with the increase in the share of young people in the population, economy, and social life. The increase in the living standards of families, the rise in the number of working young people, the activities of public institutions and private companies in the form of scholarships and discounts for young people such as training, trips, camps, etc. also draw attention as factors that increase the presence of young people in tourism. In addition, the positive impact of the internet, especially social media, on young peoples tendencies to travel, see, eat, drink, and accommodation encourages and often provokes young people to participate in tourism activities. With the increasing importance and share of young people in tourism, studies on youth tourism are also increasing. This study examines the interests, expectations, and perceptions of young individuals aged between 18 and 25 towards tourism. Data were collected through an online survey and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Nonparametric analysis techniques were employed since the data did not follow a normal distribution. The findings reveal that young people are highly interested in tourism activities, with expectations mainly focused on diversity and accessibility. The study provides an up-to-date perspective on youth tendencies in tourism and offers valuable insights for relevant stakeholders.

 Küreselleşmeye katkı sağlayan turizm faaliyetleri bireylerin imkanları ve tercihleri doğrultusunda gerçekleşmektedir. Yaş, cinsiyet, meslek gibi faktörlerin yanı sıra ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel faktörler de turizm faaliyetlerinin çeşitlilik göstermesinde etkili olmaktadır. Bu bağlamda yeni yerler keşfetmeye meraklı, heyecan ve macera arayışında olan, bağımsızlığı ve özgürlüğü bir tutku olarak ifade eden, deneyimler yolu ile kendini tanımaya odaklı ve turizmin de geleceğini belirleyecek olan gençlerin turizm faaliyetlerine katılımı önem arz etmektedir. Gençlik turizmi olarak literatürde kendine yer bulan bu turizm faaliyetlerinin gençlerin nüfus, ekonomi ve sosyal yaşam içindeki paylarının artması ile önemi daha fazla artmaktadır. Ailelerin yaşam standartlarının yükselmesi, çalışan genç sayısındaki artış, burs ve indirimler şeklinde gerçekleşen kamu kuruluşlarının ve özel şirketlerin gençlere yönelik eğitim, gezi, kamp vb. etkinlikleri de gençlerin turizmdeki varlığını arttıran etkenler olarak dikkat çekmektedir. Ayrıca internetin özellikle de sosyal medyanın gençlerin gezip görme, yeme içme, seyahat ve konaklama eğilimleri üzerindeki olumlu etkisi de gençleri turizm faaliyetlerine katılıma teşvik etmekte hatta çoğu zaman katılım oranını büyük oranda arttırmaktadır. Gençlerin turizmdeki öneminin ve payının artmasıyla birlikte gençlik turizmi üzerine yapılan çalışmalar da artmaktadır. Bu çalışma, 18-25 yaş aralığındaki gençlerin turizme yönelik ilgi, beklenti ve algılarını incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden anket tekniği seçilmiş olup çevrim içi anket yöntemiyle elde edilen veriler, betimleyici ve çıkarımsal istatistiksel analizlerle değerlendirilmiştir. Verilerin normal dağılım göstermemesi nedeniyle parametrik olmayan analiz yöntemleri tercih edilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları, gençlerin turizm faaliyetlerine yüksek ilgi duyduğunu, ancak beklentilerinin çeşitlilik ve erişilebilirlik yönünde yoğunlaştığını ortaya koymuştur. Çalışma, gençlerin turizmdeki eğilimlerine yönelik güncel bir bakış sunarak ilgili paydaşlara yol gösterici nitelikte katkılar sağlamaktadır.
