Özet:

Due to the intense interaction of the Kyrgyz and Kazakhs for hundreds of years, these two Turkish tribes have many common narratives. This interaction is mutual and many elements have been transferred to each others epics. Kökchö and Koshoi in Kyrgyz and Kökshö and Kosai in Kazakh are one of them. Kökchö and Koshoi are two inns in the Epic of Manas. According to the epic, they do not have any kinship ties with each other. About Koshoi, the Kyrgyz also have the Koshoi Epic and this epic shows parallelism with the Manas Epic. The prevailing view is that Koshoi is an archaic epic hero who was later included in the Manas Epic. Kökshö and Kosai in Kazakh epics are father and son. The epic of Kökshö tells the story of Kosai, who avenges his murdered father. Mythological elements predominate in this epic. While Kosai in the Kazakh epic is a young man who wants to avenge his father and then deserves the girl he loves, Koshoi in the Kyrgyz epics is a large and strong valiant despite his advanced age, the leader of the Katagan people, a loyal ally of Manas, a wise and respected hero. On the other hand, it seems to be related to Kosais resurrection after death and, in a sense, overcoming death, and Koshois being the oldest but vigorous person in the society. In fact, considering the possibility that Koshoi may have been the source of the Koshei myth of the Russians, it can be thought that he was depicted as an immortal hero in the past. These similarities and differences are probably the result of ethno-cultural contacts between Kyrgyz and Kazakh tribes or with other peoples.
