Özet:

The protection of intellectual creations has a long-standing history, tracing back to privileges granted as early as the 14th century. However, modern intellectual property protection emerged with the Industrial Revolution and gradually evolved into its current form. Within the scope of copyright, not only works but also related rights are safeguarded under copyright legislation. It should be noted that the legal protection of intellectual products did not occur suddenly; rather, it developed step by step in response to evolving needs and transformations throughout history. Even today, it cannot be said that this process is complete, as technological advancements continue to necessitate new regulatory measures. In recent years, the European Union EU has adopted several legal instruments to address the copyright issues arising from digitalization. These regulations aim particularly to strengthen the protection of works in the digital environment and to reinforce the principles of fair use. Beyond digitalization, recent developments in artificial intelligence AI technologies have created two-sided copyright challenges. Although there is currently a lack of comprehensive regulation concerning the AI-copyright relationship, activities classified as inputs and outputs have become a major point of discussion among copyright scholars. This study examines the copyright issues arising from rapid developments in information technologies and explores the solutions proposed within both EU and Turkish legal frameworks. Furthermore, it discusses various scenarios concerning the interaction between AI and copyright law, evaluating potential legal approaches.
